Armada Marine Hydraulics Ltd are world class specialists in their field who offer a full range of services to the commercial marine industry including system design and consultancy, engineering, parts supply, reconditioning and re-engineering of parts. Engaging Quantum represents a desire by the company to take more control of their order book. Martin Doney, Armada's Managing Director says "Historically, with a few notable exceptions, we have worked mainly for the refit yards of the UK and Europe not for the ship owners and managers themselves. This has meant we have not been as pro-active as I would like. Early discussions with Nick Dalton from Quantum flagged this up as an area we could concentrate on and we're now over a year into the relationship and delighted with progress".

"We have targeted Quantum mainly on developing our relationships with the UK-based ship managers and owners and it has been quite a revelation what can be achieved by taking the time and trouble to visit the individuals involved, understand their needs better and make sure they know who we are and what we can do for them. It's the first rule of selling isn't it - if your customers don't know about you then you can't expect any business from them".

Successes from this approach have included business from some of the world's biggest names in ship management including Vships, Angloeastern, ASP, Norbulk and SMIT plus increased levels of business from some existing customers, most notably MOD defence contractor Serco Denholm.

Additionally, Quantum have organised Armada's attendance at relevant exhibitions and conferences, assisted in planning future development of the business and secured a grant for improvements to the Armada website and online shop.
